Current Series: Built Different

“Built Different” is a sermon series about how God doesn’t promise a life without hardship—He promises a faith that can stand in the middle of it. Every struggle, every season of pressure, and every moment of uncertainty becomes part of how the Lord shapes and strengthens us from the inside out.

In this series, we’ll discover that God is not just helping us survive hard things—He is actively building us through them. When life tests our foundation, He is forming resilience, deepening our trust, and developing a faith that doesn’t break under pressure but grows stronger because of it. You are not being undone by what you’re going through—you are being built different.

Dream Teamer of the Month

Terri Lipe

Serving on the Dream Team has been one of the most meaningful and growth-filled parts of my walk with God. It’s more than just something I do at church—it’s become a place where God continues to shape my heart, stretch my faith, and help me grow in ways I didn’t always expect.

I serve on the First Impressions Team, and I also sometimes fill in with the Prayer Team. On the First Impressions Team, I get the opportunity to welcome people as they arrive, help create a warm and friendly environment, and hopefully make others feel seen and valued from the very first moment they walk in. When I serve on the Prayer Team, I’m able to come alongside people in a different way—standing with them in prayer, believing God with them, and reminding them that they are not alone. Both areas have been incredibly impactful in my life because they keep me connected to people in real and meaningful ways.

When I think about what God has done in my life through serving, I can honestly say He has blessed me tremendously. One of the biggest blessings has been the relationships I’ve built. I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many new people, hear their stories, and be part of their journey in some small way. But beyond that, God has also used serving to grow me personally. He has been developing discipline in me and building a consistent willingness to serve. There are times when serving requires sacrifice—time, energy, or stepping out of my comfort zone—but I’ve seen how God uses those moments to strengthen my faith and deepen my character.

The reason I serve is simple: I serve because Jesus served. His life was the ultimate example of humility, love, and sacrifice, and I want to reflect that in my own life. I believe God has given each of us unique gifts and talents, not just for ourselves, but to honor Him and bless others. Serving gives me a practical way to live that out.

I also believe it’s important to encourage and build up one another whenever and wherever we can. In a world where people often feel overlooked or discouraged, I’ve seen how powerful a simple smile, a warm greeting, or a prayer can be. Serving on the Dream Team makes it easy to do that—it creates space for us to intentionally care for people and point them toward Jesus in everyday moments.

Join the Team!

If I could encourage anyone, it would be this: there’s a place for you on the Dream Team. You don’t have to be perfect or have everything figured out. You just need a willing heart. Serving has changed me in so many ways, and I truly believe it can do the same for you. I’d love to see more people step in, get connected, and experience the joy that comes from serving others and honoring God with what He’s given you.

t.i.p.s. recap

T.I.P.S. is our foster care ministry event at The Heights that stands for trauma, informed, parenting, solutions.

Families come in and are served a beautiful dinner, given time to connect with other local foster parents, and leave with biblical parenting TIPS to add to their parenting during the month.
This past month our TIPS dream team members came together and hosted our Easter themed event that fed and ministered to over 100 people! Children heard about how they can live free and forgiven because of Jesus's sacrifice on the cross, and parents left encouraged and equipped for this special calling they have stepped into as a foster/adoptive parent.

Let's celebrate together all that God is accomplishing in this outreach ministry of The Heights!
