5-Day Devotional: Relationship Goal #2 – Decide Who You’re Going to Be
Day 1: Becoming the Right Person
Scripture: Philippians 2:3
Teaching Point: Healthy relationships start with becoming the kind of person who values others, not just finding the “right” person.
Reflection Question: Do you spend more time thinking about finding the right person or becoming the right person?
Challenge: Ask God to help you grow in humility. Write down one character quality you want God to develop in you.
Day 2: Humility Wins
Scripture: Philippians 2:3–4
Teaching Point: Humility is the antidote to selfishness and helps us prioritize the needs of others.
Reflection Question: In what situations do you find it hardest to think about someone else’s needs before your own?
Challenge: Today, intentionally put someone else first—listen to them, help them, or encourage them.
Day 3: Curiosity is Caring
Scripture: Philippians 2:4
Teaching Point: Taking a genuine interest in others helps build healthy relationships. Asking good questions shows that you care.
Reflection Question: Do you tend to focus more on talking about yourself or learning about others?
Challenge: Ask someone three thoughtful questions today and really listen to their answers.
Day 4: Growing to Be Like Jesus
Scripture: Philippians 2:5; Galatians 5:22–23
Teaching Point: The more we grow in our relationship with Jesus, the more our lives reflect the fruit of the Spirit.
Reflection Question: Which fruit of the Spirit do you think God wants to grow most in your life right now?
Challenge: Choose one fruit of the Spirit (like patience, kindness, or self-control) and intentionally practice it today.
Day 5: Guarding Your Heart
Scripture: Ephesians 5:21
Teaching Point: Moving slowly in relationships and valuing others helps protect your heart and build healthier connections.
Reflection Question: What does it look like for you to guard your heart in friendships and dating relationships?
Challenge: Write down one boundary or decision you can make that will help you honor God in your relationships. Then pray and ask God for the strength to follow through.
