Big Idea: Relationship Goal #3: Love Like Jesus

Healthy relationships aren’t built by finding the right person; they’re built by loving like Jesus.

Main Points

1. Leave the old behind. (Ephesians 4:31–32)

Get rid of bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander.

Replace them with kindness, tenderheartedness, and forgiveness.

2. Jesus is our example. (Ephesians 5:1–2)

We are called to imitate God.

Jesus showed us love through sacrifice and putting others first.

3. Love that pleases God. (Ephesians 5:2)

When we love like Jesus, it becomes a pleasing aroma to God.

In every relationship, we choose to please God or ourselves.

Living It Out

Decide to surrender your life to Jesus.

Decide to choose love like Jesus daily.

Decide to clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. (Colossians 3:12–14)
